The Christmas season truly begins at Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse with the opening of our ever popular annual holiday show: “Scrooge, A Christmas Carol”. With a script by Beverly Olsen and Jacci Florence, we tell the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, following him through a haunting evening that gives him a new perspective on life, love, and charity.

If you’ve ever sat in a dark theater and thought, “Dear Lord in heaven, please let it be good,” this is the show for you! It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and the musical literally burst to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love.

Pirates Of Penzance concerns Frederic, who, having completed his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and the two young people fall instantly in love. Frederic finds out, however, that he was born on 29 February, and so, technically, he only has a birthday each leap year. His apprenticeship indentures state that he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday, and so he must serve for another 63 years. Bound by his own sense of duty, Frederics’s only solace is that Mabel agrees to wait for him faithfully.

Pirates was the fifth Gilbert and Sullivan collaboration and introduced the much-parodied Major-General’s Song. The operetta was performed for a century by the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company in Britain.

In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairy man, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

Rich in historical and ethnic detail, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has  touched audiences around the world with it’s humor, warmth and honesty. The universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.
